• Hello all

I currently use Joomla and the JD-Wordpress to make my Joomla site look “warmer” with a WordPress style layout.

My original reasons for going with Joomla was that it had the Community Builder plug-in and GigCalendar and it had a lot of nice backend components and plug-ins. But I am finding it incredibly hard to maintain and stay current. It has a more industrial feel to it and I’d rather work with something more artistic and fluid.

There’s now GigPress for WP – but I am wondering if there’s anything like the CB plug-in for WP. I’d like to enable fans to sign up for exclusive perks like members only downloads and interviews. In some cases using for pay subscriptions. In some cases just for signing on the mailing list.

    So in essence, I’d like:

    a) a nice user managment interface like CB.

    b) Gig calendar – I think GigPress is great.

    c) An efficient mailing list manager like PhPlist.

Any thoughts, recommendations or suggestions? Example sites would be awesome.

    Best regards,

    Charles

    Thanks everybody, I’ll try mojoblog…

I’ve been away from the forums for awhile. I am developing a musician’s web site originally running WP but now using CMSMS. (I KNOW, this is a WP thread..)

    https://www.cmsmadesimple.org

It has a FEU (Front End User) module that servers “premium” content to registered users, you can integrate paypal, you can embed a music player, it’s just very flexible. You can plop PHP code of any kind into a UDT (User Defined Tag) and call that tag anywhere in your templates.

Here is one of the best sites I’ve seen that uses CMSMS (I WISH I could say it was my design, but it’s not)

    https://www.concentus.org

Notice the embeded music player, great for a musician’s site.
