    Hello,

A little background. I maintain the website for a small company that sells products in two different countries. We are using WordPress 3.0.5 (I’ll be updating soon, I’m sure) as our CMS. We don’t offer all the same products in both countries (one country only has a small sub-set of what we offer in the other country).

Recently, the owner of the company decided that we needed to offer country specific websites and would like to do that with WordPress. Basically, what I would like to do is have one database that has all of the content that we have created and have two different websites (www.ourcompany.com and https://www.ourcompany.com/can) that can pull the content from the database if the item is offered in that country. Is this possible with WordPress? Is this possible with WordPress Multisite? Any assistance or ideas you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Evan,

That is exactly what you can do with WordPress MultiSite.

It would be one installation and one database but you can have many blogs as subdomains or even as you put example.com/anotherblog

After you have two blogs I would recommend exporting your content and importing it into the new site and then deleting the unwanted posts to minimize your effort in replicating the current site.

You can review what is necessary by reading about Creating a Network in the Codex.

If you have other questions feel free to ask.

    Mike
