I’m still getting bogus registration using SI Captcha on a membership site with S2Member. I am unsing the Free version of S2member and averaging 5 – 7 bogus registrations a day. I’ve installed another “spam registration blocker” and it’s not working will this plugin work any better and why?

    Hello gwnfld,

Just install spam-master, select the free version protection and hit save settings.
The free version will protect you from hotmail, msn, live and outlook. 4 threats.

You don’t need to unistall the other plugins.
Just deactivate S2member, spam-master works well with SI Captcha.

Spam-Master will block those 4 threats, but all other spam domains will pass. You will still notice a huge improvement just by being protected from hotmail crap.

Update – your tool has definitely reduced the number of bogus registrations I was getting. I was looking at the paid version and noticed it blocks outlook.com bogus registration. I’m reluctant to purschase it because I’m still getting bogus registration from outlook.com. If I purchase a license how will things change and how will it block those bogus registrations from coming in?

Not too thrilled about the $25.00 for only 6 months of protection either.

Happy that it’s working on your end.
Sorry to tell you, you will never get 100% blocks, it’s just impossible no matter what plugin you use, because new emails, domains and ip’s are constantly being created.
We have noticed that 6 months is usually enough for your website to be unlisted from spammer attack lists and bots. Because they also have bills to pay and they don’t like to waist human or hardware resources with webites that block them and fight them back big time…. they rather prey on easy websites ??
