I feel like a moron for asking such a simple question, but I’ve been trying to do this for hours so…

I am using WooCommerce and an add-on widget WooSlider, which lets me create slide shows of my products. I want to use the slideshow widget as my homepage image (the image next to where the ‘call to action’ button is right now.)

I’ve tried finding the shortcode for the widget to paste it in for customizing the theme, but I couldn’t seem to find the shortcode.

I tried inserting the widget into another area and copying what I think(!) the code for the widget is, but then when I make the test widget inactive, it screws everything uo.

Is there a simple way to do this? Right now I’ve got the slideshow widget active in the home page widget 3 section.

My site is https://www.parkpack.com (It’s just a skeleton site right now – please don’t judge. ;))

    Thank you!

    Hi,

This seems like commercial plugin, if so please ask the author directly.

Note that if the plugin works only with shorcodes, you won’t be able to paste the shortcode in widgets, unless support is added.

    Thanks,
    Emil

Thank you for the quick response!… so just to clarify (because I am seemingly programming-disabled):

I cannot drag a widget to be the picture on the front page of your theme. The only way to change the picture is to do so on the Theme customization page and have code, etc. to paste in.

    Right?

I found a thread about replacing the featured image here and Widgetized Child Theme – which I believe I am using.

I guess I’m just wondering if I can drag in a widget to replace the featured image. I thought that the widgetized child theme would allow me to do that, but I can’t seem to get the picture to change.

Of course you can change, but please note that they’re not widgets ?? Please see.

And if you wish to add a slider instead, take a look here when you have a chance.

    Thanks,
    Emil

Ok, thank you. I am just going to switch over to Meteor for now, because at least I understand how to get that shortcode.

    Thanks again.
