Using two themes in one blog

  • Hi,
    I want to have in my wordpress blog, to use for one entry in my menu, a different wordpress theme.
    I don’t want to use pages template of theme 1 and post template of theme 2, I would like for one entry (let’s call it X), to use an another theme.
    My question is the following :
    Can I create a new database on my hosting service, install a second wordpress on it, and redirect with a pluggin entry X in my menu to specific pages of this second wordpress blog.
    What do you say?
    Is there a better solution?

    Probably easier to make a custom template for the page in question – otherwise you’d have two separate installs of WP and have to maintain them both.

    One other possible way would be creating a child theme and using the page.php template of theme 1 and keep theme to as the parent. It may be a little tricky but in theory sounds pretty doable.

    Personally I would go with what @wpyogi suggested since it would be a little easier to maintain. ??

    But the thing is …. God it seems complex

    I wanted to create a separate Mag in the site,
    in the menu, when you click on “Mag”, it opens a new window that leads you on a blog like this :
    https://relogik.com/

    in fact it’s more like a blog in another one.
    That’s why I thought the best would be another database… I expressed myself badly, because I badly conceptualized it.
    Now it’s better : a blog in another one.
    WHat do you think?

    So it doesn’t have to be on the same domain?

    Yes it should be on the same domain, I want to visually dissociate the mag from the rest of the website. Also because it’s a very different content, shouldn’t be organised in the same manner
