    Hello everyone,

I am thinking of using two backups plugin for my WordPress: UpdraftPlus and All-in-One WP Migration. I feel more secure having two different types of backup, so if one doesn’t restore for any reason, I can try to restore with the other one. Do you see any problems doing that?

    Much thanks,

    Hi there,

There shouldn’t be any problem running two different backup plugins. The only disadvantages I see is that, one, your server/external server’s disk space will be holding backups more frequently than if you were just using one. Although, this shouldn’t be a problem if you’re not worried about space.

Secondly, there is a slight chance that the two backup plugins may be utilizing the same SDK for something like AWS/Google Drive. Issues could arise if one plugin is trying to utilize the SDK whenever the other plugin is also trying to use it. Instances like this should be avoided if both plugins are following coding standards, but it’s just something to be aware of.

Other than that, I’d say there’s no problem in having both.

    Hope that helped.

    Best regards,
    Tyler

Thank you for your time & help Tyler,

I’ll make sure I download my backups to avoid filling the server.

    Best regards,
    Pierre-Olivier
