• It seems that both these official Facebook plugins have different functions.

My understanding is that the this plugin allows capturing of user actions and support for the conversions API whereas the Facebook for Woocommerce plugin builds out the marketing and ad side.

And it therefore seems like using both is a good way to go. My question is, is that the intention? Or should I only use one.

It looks like both plugins setup the Facebook Pixel, which sounds like it would be problematic, and I also notice that this plugin hasn’t been updated for 5 months whereas the woocommerce plugin seems more active. So I’m wondering whether that suggests I should only be using the woocommerce plugin.

My use case is building facebook marketing campaigns for our WordPress ecommerce store and understanding how our facebook ads relate to conversions.

  • hey,
just searching the exact same question. on a already built eshop, found both plugins, which have some overlaps (fb pixel is inserted twice in the code).
maybe we keep only the specific one for woocommerce?

I also have this doubt, my facebook pixel “woocommerce” started not registering some events, so I did a test using the plugin for WordPress and the events happened again.
Through pixel help I saw that some parameters are sent differently and facebook for woocommerce is not registering server conversion events…
I would also like to know if I should use both.
