Using shortcode in the excerpt

Hello,
I am putting in my shortcode excerpt_strip=no to allow my html, but in order to display images I have a shortcode that represents a php line which produces the uploads directory and then I just add the remaining path of the year/month/image_name.jpg to show the image on the post.
My problem is that on the page where I display the post I need to show the image but the shortcode [php function=x] is being stripped so the only url left for the image is date and image name without the full path to the uploads folder.
Is there a way to allow shortcodes along with html and not have the shortcode stripped?
