Using shortcode in post

    In answer to your first question, yes. The shortcode is handled the same, whether it is being used in a page or a post.

    Your second question is also a yes. All shortcodes can be run through existing WordPress core functionality. Specifically, use the following: do_shortcode('[dg <any attributes here>]');. See the documentation for that method here.
