Using short code in widgets

    I’m no longer able to use the short code in a widget. I’m forced to use the “pre designed” widget, which doesn’t allow for the same flexibility. Is this a code change to what is permissible with the free version. This seemed to take effect on 2/7/14 around 2am EST. prior to that it worked fine. now the text of the code shows up in my widgets instead of my desired photo album.
