Using Pods Templates
-
Hello,
first of all a big compliment and thank you – PODS is great.
I’m considering completely redesigning a website that I’ve already heavily integrated PODS into. Unfortunately, I can’t yet estimate whether this is even possible in the form I’m thinking of.
I currently use for the website:
– event (Custom Post Type)
– event_location (Custom Taxonomy)
– event_type (Custom Taxonomy)There are different organizers for the events and each organizer needs its own template for the display.
I know how to create POD templates (and I use a lot of small template blocks), but unfortunately I can only assign a single template to the “event” pod under “Auto Template Options”.
That’s why I always have to create a new WordPress page for each new event that an organizer offers. Then I have integrate the appropriate template (or mostly different, small template blocks) into this news page. I think – basically, this is unnecessary, double work, because everything that is required for the display is actually already available in Pods templates.
Is it somehow possible to add a field to the “event” pod as a drop-down list that lists all available templates and offers them for selection?
A multiple selection field for templates (f.e. small template blocks) in the “event” pod would be very helpful, which I could also sort in the order to be displayed using drag & drop.
Would this be a new Pods feature or is this feature already available in Pods and maybe I just haven’t discovered it yet?
I would be very happy about your support.
