    Hi,
I have started work on my site using a child theme I have created simply by creating a style.css and functions.php file. I haven’t altered or added any extra css to my child theme.

I’d like to know if I can set up this plugin using it on this current child theme I have created, or if I use the plugin to create a new child theme will it do it without loosing anything I have done.?

    Thank you

You can use CTC to configure your existing child theme. It will be available on the “Existing Child Theme” menu.

When you click “Generate/Rebuild Child Theme Files,” CTC will parse the existing stylesheet into the internal configuration data.

Be aware that CTC normalizes and rewrites the child stylesheet so any comments will be stripped out.

For this reason I also recommend using the “duplicate” option when starting with an existing child theme. https://www.childthemeconfigurator.com/how-to-use/#duplicating-existing-child-themes

    HI,
When I try to create child theme using existing child theme I get an error.

It just says ‘Are you sure you want to do this? with no option to say yes.
The browser tab says “WordPress Failure Notice’

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

WordPress returns “Are you sure” when the request does not validate against your login credentials and the nonce value.

Try logging out and logging back in.

Thanks, I’ll give that a go.

The next problem is I don’t have the option to “duplicate the existing child theme” as link above. I don’t seem to have and “additional Fields” toggle, i’m using v1.7.5 the instructions seem to be for an older version.
