I am not sure how to use this, is there documentation somewhere with examples? I created the WordPress page with the proper slug that is stored in the advanced settings. However, I am not sure how to link an album thumbnail to launch the page versus in a lightbox.

    Thanks for the help.

However, I am not sure how to link an album thumbnail to launch the page versus in a lightbox.

That is not possible with Photonic: galleries are meant to be shown on the same page. It is something that I am considering building in the coming few weeks, but these are fundamental changes, which take time to add to a stable plugin.

The only thing that gets you close is the option to display an “overlaid popup” using the popup attribute of the shortcode as shown in the section “Example 2 – With the interim popup panel” of the demo.

Oh okay. I just saw the option in the advanced settings and thought that would be awesome under certain circumstances, but then I couldn’t figure out how to make it work (as I said).

Yes – sorry about that. I was in the process of developing this for the last release, and then I had to quickly change priorities because Instagram was going to deprecate its API on March 31st. That took up a good amount of time to code and test (in addition to waiting for Facebook to approve my use of the API), and since I was up against the clock, I ended up releasing the plugin with the Instagram changes.

The code for the dedicated page is mostly there, as in, Photonic generates URLs that can be used, but it does not let users go to those URLs currently. It is on the cards for the next release, as I mentioned in my previous post.

Thanks. Plug-in is easy to use and has been amazingly easy to integrate with and pull from Google Photos. Thanks again!

Hi – the feature to open galleries in a separate page is now available. See “Example 3 – Album on a Separate Page” on the documentation page.
