Using old wordpress.com account

  • I starting my https://devcompage.com on WordPress.com. I have migrated to a self-hosted blogging platform with a web host. I want to go back to WordPress.com using the same URL. I have just renewed my domain (devcompage.com) with Automattic.

    Is it possible to go back to my old WordPress.com account using the same domain?

  • You can export the contents of your self-hosted site (go to Tools menu – Export) and import it all back into a WordPress.com account. From there, WordPress.com support should be able to help you with switching the domain.

    Oh, ok. To create the new WordPress.com account, I need to just give it a new domain name then once I have imported the content, I can request WordPress.com support to switch the domain. Thanks.
