using my search bar on site crashes whole server

    I have a fairly robust VPS plan and I am using PHP7, so I don’t understand why searching for something on my site causes it to stall, and then not be able to load again. Tried chrome and MS Edge. Same thing. Tried different search plugin rather than the default. Same thing. Nothing else is crashing it.

    Restarting the apache server fixed it – well, until someone tries to search for an old article. So, I pulled the search widget. That’s a shame, I think. I wonder what in ‘search’ is crashing my server, when it seems perfectly capable of handling other intensive tasks..

    Hi, this started to happen to me last week (using search causing site to crash) so I’ve also removed the search boxes.

    Did you figure out the issue? My staging site (on the same server) sometimes crashes and sometimes doesn’t so really struggling to pinpoint the issue.
