Using multi styles over the website

I’ve duplicated and edited the ‘text’ style css in order to set static heights for the playlist.
I want different players to use different styles but when I add the player to a page and type
style="new template"it doesn’t effect the player. Its as if the player will only follow the styling selected in the settings page and doesn’t change when I add styling to the html code.Can anyone help me with this?
