Using < 1970 dates

Hi… I created a blog in wich I want describe events that are recorded in the past, using their real date for the posts themselves.

However, the visualized date is always 1970 if the date is previous to that year. In the database, the date is stored correctly.

How can I display the dates correctly?

I think that the problem is the “date” php function itself, can you give me some example codes?
