Using Local by Flywheel and getting error: PHP installation missing MySQL ext

  • Hi,

    I am trying to get my website working so that I can view it offline. I have installed Local by Flywheel, and it seems to be fighting me every step of the way.

    I am now getting this message when I try to view my site:
    Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress

    I have no idea what to do with this. I tried Googling an answer, and every site seems to be saying just to drop an info.php file into the folder. So I’ve done that, although not sure exactly where it’s meant to go, or how to be sure if the app has recognised the new file is there.

    Any advice? Thanks.

    I haven’t seen that one yet, but I’d recommend heading over to https://local.getflywheel.com/community/ to post it and see if anyone has a solution. That’s the best place to find an answer for Local by Flywheel.

    Thanks. I have posted there already, but the forum seems to be dead. The only posters are all asking for help.

    If the WordPress itself works or worked just fine before adding the plugin then it’s most likely the plugin’s fault.

    I’d look for whatever support channel Flywheel might provide and also ask over at Stack Exchange for a possible answer there.

    You might try installing health check and taking a look at things in debug mode.

    When you ask for help make it clear that the problem started when (before or after) the install of the plugin.

    I don’t care for WAMP or LAMP on local development boxes for WordPress but the Flywheel product looks very promising.
