using jquary scripts in wordpress

    Hi,
    I need to add some jquery scripts in the header of my theme for some functionality. But as we know I also need to include the jquery library link in the head of the file: <script src=”https://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.min.js&#8221; type=”text/javascript”>

    However the code doesn’t work either with or without the link script. Either it is duplicated or has a conflict with another jquery!!

    Is there any advice from professionals as what I should do please?
