• Where do I find information about migrating from wp.com (redirected to my url) to reloading my blog and posts to the GoDaddy install of WP?

    I’m not a programmer. But I know:
    a. my site https://www.meshtime.com is live, and wp.com is redirecting, and that WP has been installed and activated at meshtime.com/wordpress for my ‘automagically’.

What do I need to do to allow me to start customizing site, ftp ing content etc?

  • In the Dashboard of your WP.com blog, under Tools select Export. Create an XML file containing your posts and comments for you to save or import into another WordPress blog.

Download this file to your PC.

In your new blog, in the Dashboard under Tools, elect import and upload the XML file.

WordPress.com offers a very affordable Site Redirect. It’s only $12 and you can find it under store in your WP.com Dashboard.

    Good luck!

i did the site redirect, but I wanted to ‘host my own’ so I can have custom css,and put my own ads and analytic and other stuff.

I guess I need to disable the redirect? the ns1.wordpress.com redirects?
    I did the export thanks.
Then I should be able to log into the dashboard locally?
