Using gmail SMTP plugin

    Our hosting server, dreamhost.com, is banned by all email providers. So, any emails that are sent out by the hosting server are blocked. We have installed Gmail SMTP plugin to allow for emails to be sent from a valid Gmail account. Does WP Auctions have any support to send emails by way of the Gmail STMP plugin.

    DreamHost isn’t banned by ‘all’ email providers (or even most …) Your IP might have gotten caught in a blacklist though. Have you opened a support ticket to get that cleared?

    Since Gmail SMTP uses wp_mail, that SHOULD work just fine with everything out there.

    The problem here is WP Auction Plugin is using PHP’s mail() function instead. They need to switch that over.

    Hi Wordfrog/Mika,

    We’ve just updated the plugin to use wp_mail as per Mika’s suggestion. Apologies for the oversight, we switched the premium version to using wp_mail many moons ago when we added UTF8 functionality, but never retrofitted it to the free version.
