Using ‘event_cat’ to exclude a category?

  • The site I’m working on has three types of events… past, upcoming, and “in the works”. The “in the works” events are those for which the location, time, and other details aren’t settled yet.

    Is there a way to exclude the “in the works” events from the listing via the ‘event_cat’ on the shortcode?

    I was hoping to only categorize the “in the works” ones and leave the rest alone, but at the moment I’ve accomplished it by categorizing every other event as “scheduled” so that I can filter them appropriately…

    Hi Andrew,

    There’s no such attribute yet. Not that easy to include this in the events query.

    So for now in order to exclude a certain category you should include all other categories:

    event_cat="your-category-slug-1, your-category-slug-2, your-category-slug-3"
