Using [event-list] shortcode

I have 2 questions:

1. I’d like to change some text on the Event List page (for example ‘Price start at:’ — this is grammatically incorrect), but can’t find where to do this. What files do I need to edit?

2. How can I increase the excerpt length then using the [event-list] shortcode? I don’t see anywhere to input my own excerpt for events.
