Using elementor Pro with WooCommerce

also under WooCommerce product setting, Shop page: I can’t add a custom elementor page for the shop???

You can customize Shop page for your store using Elementor.

You can take a look at this article for pointers:

Once you finish, you can set the Shop page you want in WooCommerce > Settings > Products.

also, do I need to change the Permalink Settings so that it pulls the data from pages instead?

You don’t need permalinks for that. You can change the Shop page as described above. If you want to set or change other WooCommerce pages, you can add the shortcodes displayed in this documentation on the pages you want; this way, they can pull the data in from WooCommerce.

this does not work as it goes back to the default WooCommerce product layout after I have set the prebuilt page.
