When I click on “comment” instead of going to a page to add a comment or read a comment it goes back to the homepage of my web site. In fact every time I click on anything else that is what happens. I have just installed wordpress and only have one “test” post. Do I need to uninstall and start over? if so how?Thankyou.

Can you give us a link to the site so we can see what’s happening?

My first thought (though I could be way off) is the WordPress address and Blog address under Options in your dashboard. Make sure those are set to the right places. (The codex entry for the General Options can help explain what that should be for you.)

Other than that, without seeing your site, I’m in the dark.

the website is https://www.pianopromoving.com, wordpress has been installed to be accessed from a link on the page called follow us. It is all very basic and minimal at this time. I can click on follow us, then on hte only link on the page, that takes me to wordpress where I have entered a 1 line post. When I try to co to comments I am returned to the website. I know nothing about installing wordpress, I just filled out the blanks, I left one of them empty as per the instructions and press install…the people at bluehost told me to use my websiteand /index.php as the address for the link to wordpress. I have much to learn and any help is appreciated.

You’ve got WordPress installed in your root directory, and since you don’t want it to be the main page on your site, you’d do better having it installed in a subdirectory. (I have no idea how to make it work the way you’ve got it set up.) You can move the installation you have now by following the directions in the codex entry for Moving WordPress within your site.

If you feel like that’s over your head (I don’t mean to be insulting if it isn’t, but I’m not sure how much you know…), then in all honesty, since you don’t have content there yet, I would recommend starting over. But when you install, install into a subdirectory, like https://www.pianopromoving.com/wordpress or https://www.pianopromoving.com/blog or whatever you’d like to call it. Then you’d just link to that directory for your blog.

I’m not familiar with Bluehost – do they have Fantastico installs? If so, I believe you should have a step in the install where it asks you where to install, and you can tell it the subfolder.

If anyone’s more familiar with Bluehost who wants to jump in here, feel free. ??

Thank You! I will attempt to start over! I did use Fantastico install and when it asks where to install that is what I didn’t know, I beleive there were some instructions to leave it blank if I am remembering correctly. Anyway I really don’t know what I am doing just bumbling my way along:)
