Using child_pages to list siblings/top pages

Hi!

I’ve been using child_pages successfully on my landing pages however I want to use it to display the top level posts on my homepage as a type of navigation, and preferably use the same style.css

How would I do this? Do I need to copy the PHP file and reference child of parent?
