    Hello,

I’m trying to use a child theme to modify the CSS code so when there are updates, I don’t have to touch the parent theme. But when I create anarcho-notepad-child, I loose all images (background, the pages image etc…) . I just wanted to personalize the CSS and nothing else (OK I use loco translate also to put everything in French but I don’t think it would forbid me to use a child time is it?) . Can you please help me? Thank you

Here is my website in case: https://cherjournal.mabulle.net/

(Here, what I did is changing the CSS directly on the parent page but since there was an update, I lost everything and had to manually do again all the codes I’ve entered before)

By the way, since the update, I can’t add any script in the top of the page, I could do it before. Is there any other solution?

    Hello,

This happens because you again need to configure background, logo etc, if you use child theme. If you just wanted to personalize the CSS and don’t want to configure theme again then I recommend using some plugin for creating custom css. You can try “Simple Custom CSS” plugin (I have not tried it) or similar.

Due to the strict rules of www.remarpro.com I was forced to remove the option to paste the scripts in the header and footer.

    OK thank you Arthur.

I found a solution for the CSS.
It’s too bad for the header script but OK.

    You are welcome!

I really thought your design was cute, but I’ve been handcoding some rather complex sites for 20 years now, and prior to that I was an SGML template designer, so I was really just looking for a program that would take some of the burden off me. Your coding is okay but I have to keep hunting for things I need to edit and they never seem to be where I expect them to be, so probably, I’m going to screenshot the homepage I made using your template and my graphics and go back to handcoding. I think I realized that wordpress is for beginners or people who don’t mind paying a lot of money for commercial products. No worries. I think you did a decent job considering you only had LAMP to work with.
