I have been testing the builder widgets on the website I maintain (falaise.ca). I can use the Widget Area block to create a widget area on an existing page.

I would like to be able to use the widgets on my localhost system so I can test things before deployment. However, when I insert a widget area block and hit “Customizer View” I get a message saying that URL /wp-admin/customize.php was not found. I’m using wamp64 and the file structure is www/falaise/wp-admin/customize.php.

It would seem that the widget area block is not aware of the “falaise” subfolder.

I have not encountered any similar problems when developing on localhost.

    Hi @carlkross,

Interesting. Is this issue still occurring when using the most recent plugin version?

I haven’t personally encountered this issue on my localhost. Unfortunately, it’s a difficult issue to test for. Personally, I use DesktopServer for my local testing environment, and haven’t had any issues with the Widget Area block.

As a workaround in the meantime, you could either use the Organic Custom page template provided by the plugin, or just enter the Customizer using Appearance > Customize after adding your Widget Area block.

    Thanks!

    Thanks for your response.

I have updated the plugin but the result is the same.

I knew about Appearance > Customize but superficially it seemed to get me to a different place than the Customizer View button.

Given your recommendation, I have tried again and realize I have to navigate to the page where the widget block has been inserted. (This seems to be handled automatically by the Customizer View button).

This seems to be an acceptable workaround.

    Thanks!

    Hi @carlkross,

No problem. Glad to hear that workaround will work in the meantime. ??

    Thanks!
