    Hi,

I wonder if this plugin has an option to use the browser gps of an mobile phone (also desktop computer)?
I read the feature list and the articel about geotargeting, but coulnd’t find an answer.

Would be great if it would work like this:
If: user allows browser gps, user browser gps
    else: take the maxmind database

    Any ideas?

    Thanks !

    Hi Phil,

    thanks for reaching out.

The Geo Add-on for Advanced Ads works together with the MaxMind Geo Database to determine the visitor location via IP addresses.

I am not aware of how the browser gps is presented to the server, maybe looking at the conditions available can give you a glimpse of a possible workaround.

    Best regards,
    Henning

    Hi hennigaa,

    thanks for your reply.

Nope, i think it isn’t anything I’m looking for.

I think the browser gps can be got if it is a mobile phone – otherwise the OS can send location information from wlan router to the browser.

I’m not completly sure how this is called or how this works – but would be great if our plugin would have a system like:

    if user allow gps data
    create ads by gps data
    else
    create ads user ip data

we would like to use it for a website in germany and the ip locations aren’t very accurate here.

Nevertheless – thank you very much for your reply ??

    Hi Phil,

    Thanks for the reply.

The if and else logic is already implemented within the conditions feature.

Please feel free to add your demand for gps data as a new condition to our feature request list.

Stay safe and greetings from the east coast,
    Henning
