• I am trying to install on BlueHost using simplescripts, I’ve watched videos, printed instructions, everything is so simple and easy even a cave man can do it. And yet, after it has been “successfully installed” and I click on the website url or the admin site url I get the message “cannot connect to server”. I’m using Firefox. Can someone help me get to cave man level? Ugh!

Hmm… I see here that mySQL failed.

    The error is in 5.0.81-community-log

That error is also reporting in the server status on my server, but it is an invalid error. I checked with BlueHost support on that as well. Although the error shows, mysql still works perfectly.

The installation may not have gone through smoothly. If it still isn’t working for you, try using Simple Scripts to uninstall it and then go ahead and reinstall it again. If that still doesn’t work, you may want to call BlueHost support or use their live chat feature and see if they are aware of any problems on the server and have them check your Simple Scripts install.

THIS is EXACTLY the issue I am having…..the install instructions say the Simple Scripts installation should complete in 10 seconds and afterward I should see a big green button to press.

No big green button, and I have un-installed and re-installed using Simple Scripts twice.

I continue to get the error 404 message each install, which is completely frustrating. I was surprised I had to search for my issue…and this post is 6 months old…which leads me to believe it is me, not the various programs I engaged SPECIFICALLY to use WordPress.

Any updates on this Error-After-Install issue?

TheJillian: Your issue is a separate issue from tgh’s issue.

After you install WordPress there is not a big green button, there is a little link that lets you click to visit the site, and another little link that lets you click to visit the login page to the admin dashboard.

The problems you are currently having could be in relation to different things. Are you getting the 404 page from Simple Scripts, or do you get it when you go to your site? Can you please provide a link to your website?

Also, if you are having issues within Simple Scripts, before trying the install again, try renaming your .htaccess file, if you have one, and also use the PHP Config icon in the cPanel to make sure you are running PHP5 (Single php.ini), then install the default php.ini. Rename the php.ini.default to php.ini.
