Using an Office 365 account

    Hi,

    Is it possible to use this plugin to send mail with a Microsoft 365 account?

    I’ve done it successfully with a Google Workspace (GSuite) account, using an App password. So I thought an App password would be the way to go on M365.

    But recently Microsoft has discontinued App passwords and I believe Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) becomes a hurdle because (naturally) the plugin doesn’t support MFA.

    Does anyone have any experience with this?

    Unfortunately, WP SMTP does not have this option, I’m sorry!

    We will take a closer look to check if this is something that we can implement in our plugin.

    I apologize for not coming back earlier. I wanted to thank you for your reply.

    I actually managed to make it work with a M365 account, after disabling MFA and enabling SMTP Auth for the specific user account.

    Then configured WP SMTP with the following settings:

    • smtp host: smtp.office365.com
    • smtp secure: TLS
    • smtp port: 587
    • smtp auth: yes
