Using Akismet but still getting “unsafe email config …”

I’m using Akismet as anti-spam as recommended by you and the email collection field on the form is set up as:
[email* your-email akismet:author_email autocomplete:email]

In Mail(2) I’m using [your-email] in the “to” field to ensure a copy of what was submitted is sent to the author of the message. This field is now rejected as “Unsafe email config is used without sufficient protection.” . Valid contact forms are still sent on as before but no email is sent back to the user, which is some consolation. I’m using V5.8.2 of Contact Form 7, under WP6.3.2

Why is the Configuration Validator rejecting this, when protection is in place?
