• Hi,

I’m already using an image optimizing plugin (most of the time EWWW Image Optimizer) and thought it was as the same time sending the appropriate image size depending on the device, but now I’m not so sure…

Your plugin does that… But shall we also use an image optimizer (to first reduce the image file size) and then use your plugin to send the right dimension, or just your plugin? Will it create a conflict if used with another plugin?

Also, does it create problems with caching plugins (like one size is cached on the server and it always sends this file, or all the sizes are cached and it sends the right one)?

    Hello, my friend,

I think that image optimizers (like EWWW) most importantly optimise your original images but without resizing them. What our plugin does is to resize them according to each device (and according to your settings, of course). So, you can use both these plugins at the same time if you feel like it.

Caching plugins (like W3TC) usually only take care the text assets of a web page (HTML, CSS, JS) and not the images so, again, they should not have any conflicts with our plugin.

However, it is an entirely different story when one uses a CDN or a caching server like Varnish. These cases are partially and still experimentally handled by our plugin.

Let me know if I can help with anything more!

    Cheers,
    Takis
