I’m not sure I follow. You want to add a featured image caption through this plugin, but not using the meta box provided by the plugin?

Forgive me if I am showing my WordPress ignorance, but in a post when I select the drop-down for Add New Custom Field, several plugins have names provided to go with field values, but not Featured Image Caption.

Ah, I see. I have not done anything to support custom fields for the plugin. What were you trying to do with a custom field for the plugin?

An alternative way to enter information that can be automated with some plugins. Thanks for the quick responses.

Ok. If you have an example of what type of automation you’re trying to do, I can look into what would be involved in adding support for that type of integration into the plugin and whether it makes sense to add it.

Current scenario: Working on a news aggregator site like inside.com using RSS feeds. Can auto-populate custom fields based on RSS source info. Having this integration would allow for caption to be automatically populated versus manually entering for each RSS item.

Ah, that makes sense. I’ll look into what’s involved in adding support for that.
