• Hello,

I’ve read the “moving wordpress” documents – but need to develop a more simple understanding before I undertake what I am going to try and do.

I have a wordpress blog that I’ve been spending the past few months building using a URL that I will not use in the future – I’ve just used it to set up my blog while my current site is live.

I’m ready to forward my real site’s domain name / URL to the blog I’ve been spending the last few months building.

Is this a correct understanding of how it works?

    1. Forward domain name to my blog
    2. in Settings in the WP Admin area – change the URL and SITE ADDRESS
    3. Use search/replace plugin to remove all instances of the old URL and replace them with the new URL?

Before I do this I want to make a backup of my wordpress database right?

    Thanks
    LA
