From what I understand, you want your category (or categories?) displayed as root/page/category. If you want all categories to display like this, you could just change your category permalink structure to look like this:

/page/category

i will try to be more precise. I want to use inventory page for posts, so no matter from where you come to posts you will always have mywebiste.com/inventory/postname/ In that case i will always have current class for inventory page and have current state for inventory link.

You’re trying to use the WP page concept in a perverse manner. Pages are usually independent from posts.

Are you going to catalog your inventory using WP posts? If so, use the loop to pull in the top posts from each category of product .. if this is what you are intending WP to do for you .. and feature those on the front page. You can call that front page inventory or anything else you like. Remember that category pages will feature all posts in that particular category. Useful if your categories are product lines.

I hope this makes sense. If you could explain a bit more about what your posts will consist of and what you intend your site visitors to SEE when they come to the inventory page, that would help a bit. ??

i have all pages as images here just click on image and you will see next image.
I made categories as artists, and on inventory page i added posts,
artists page need to be archives page, to show all alphabetical sorted categories (in this case artists). when i click on some of artist, i want to be redirected to inventory page and to see only images of that artist.
