Uses Google Places API, not Google My Business API?

    Hi there! It seems there is a bit of a terminology mix up, does this plugin use Google Places API or Google My Business API?

    From what I know, Google Places API does not get special hours from Google My Business (yes I know I can add them via the plugin, but my client wants to be able to pull regular + special hours from their business page) as it requires an Oauth screen every time to grab the data. It’s possible I am getting the two confused – let me know – thanks so much!

    Hello @yulia1872,

    It very specifically uses Google Places API as an option available to most users who have a Place ID at a specific location.

    Perhaps the confusion arises from collecting data that is used with Google My Business.

    You are correct about the special opening hours. This is why I recommend using Structured Data to convey your special opening hours with Google My Business and others.

    I will put something more robust in place as I have time to develop the plugin further – so reimplementing synchronisation using the Places API and, later, the Google My Business API. The OAuth is a bit of a hurdle with its development (GMB API), so please get in touch directly if you want to chat with me about this a little more.
