Users select box just show 100 users.

In this version I have implement ‘live search’ so that it shouldn’t slow your site down if you lots of users. Do you have more than 100 users? If so, if you type in the box, does it allow you to access the users that aren’t there?

I have 1000+ users.

Live search works perfectly but I just can see 100 users on the box. First user i can see is “Abe…” and the last user I can see is “Ban…”. Ie the box just shows my first 100 users sorted alphabetically. If i type “C” or “D” or “E” … nothing happens.

BTW, I like the new users box. I hope that it can show all my users.

I think i’ve worked what the problem is here. You need to type a minimum of 3-characters to search through users. Can you try this and let me know how you get on?

I’ll look to improve this new functionality in next version of the plugin.

I have an user called “Superl…”. I typed S-U-P on the box and nothing happens.

Ah, it looks like it’s because select2 isn’t working on your site. Are you happy with using the developer console? If so, can you post any errors you’re seeing?

BTW, I would like keep this users box. I do not think it’s necessary “Live search” because the users already are sorted alphabetically.

The problem is, loading large numbers of users is the reason why the site is slowing down. By using live search, we can dynamically load in only the users that have been searched for and speed things up massively. I’m working on a fix at the mo that should hide the users completely and only allow live search if a site has more than 100 users.

Additionally, using select2 for the selection boxes is key to the plugin’s functionality so this must work to allow the plugin to work properly.

Well, “Email users” plugin use an Users box and it doesnt slowing down the site when I send an email to multiple users. On the contrary it is very fast. But my site is slowing down when I send an email to user group “Members” with BNFW. The page loads up to 5 minutes and even so not send the notification to all my users(it send it to only 200 or 300 users)

I understand – it’s difficult to know how Email Users is handling the same situation but i’m always trying to improve BNFW. I have some ideas on how I can speed it up in the future too.

Are you using an SMTP or transactional email service with Email Users? Or do you know if it’s sending the email through wp_mail()?

It looks like Email Users is using Chosen.js – an alternative to select2.js which i’m using in BNFW.
I do have plans to speed up BNFW quite a bit and will happen next year.

The next version of BNFW will allow you to Type a single character to search for users and should be a little more user friendly, providing that select2 is working on your site.

Are you able to provide me with a list / screenshot of the plugins that are installed on your site so that I can try and work out which one might be causing the select2.js conflict?
