• Several of my users have reported that the software is rejecting their passwords when they try to log in. Just tonight, I walked a user through the registration process, and in real-time, he reported that the system rejected his newly-obtained password.
This is happening when users attempt to leave a comment to a post (I have it set to where users must be “logged in” to post – not sure if that is the same as “registered” but that will be another topic). They get to the WordPress Login screen, and type their username and password. Sometimes it will recognize them, and sometimes it will tell them the password doesn’t match. When this happened to several users who were sure of their password, I decided it was time to mention it here. I asked the user on the phone tonight to make sure his firewall was down and he had cookies turned on, and he did.
Can someone please advise? Thank you.

Has this issue left everyone speechless? Or do you simply not believe me? Is there a better place to post my query? This is sincerely a problem, since my constituents feel unable to communicate.

Have you had the users give you their password for you to test?

Thank you for the response. No, I shall do that and report back.

I have a similar problem in that only the admin can login but when I create new users, and even reset passwords, using both copy and paste and simple to type passwords they are all rejected.

New install but cannot add a user/password.
