• Recently many of my users have complained that they can’t login because they get the “ERROR: The password you entered for the username xxxxx is incorrect. Lost your password?” Attempting to resolve this by the lost password route does not work as they do not get an eMail. I have verified this problem with the user accounts notified to me but the problem is not universal.
Some users report the problem on multiple browsers

I have attempted to reset passwords both in the dashboard and by editing wp-users but these do not resolve the problem

As Admin, I have looked at the wp-users and wp-usermeta tables for differences between problem and ‘working’ accounts but can’t see any.

The only solution I have found is to delete the user account via dashboard and to recreate the account.
I have these plugins: Cimy-uef, New User Approve and the sidebar login widget

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Any ideas for resolving this please?

Have you tried disabling the plugins to see if they are the cause?

I have now! I disabled New_User_Approve and this seems to have solved the problems.

But this has removed the functionality that NUA provided which was useful

I’ve posted on the NUA forum for further help

    Thanks for your help
