• I’ve been using the members plug-in for a year with no issues, but this week I have found that if the members plug-in is activated, the USERS in the menu on the left of the dashboard disappears. If I deactivate the plug-in, then it appears again, but then I can’t assign a role to anyone.

This is a new problem and if I can’t get it fixed, I will have to find a new solution for my membership process.

    Any ideas?

    Hi @derbycat

I cannot replicate this issue on my local installation, and we don’t have any reports about this issue. Could you double-check that the cause of this issue is not related to one of the users capabilities that can block Users section?

Hi, since I am the only one who does any admin or WP work on the site, I can say that no one has changed anything from when it was working to now, other than updates to WP or plugins. When the members plugin is turned off, I can see the users. When it is on, I can’t. When I can see users and edit them, I can no longer select roles (because members plugin is deactivated).

To further complicate things, this only happens with secondary admin accounts. The primary admin account no longer shows users no matter what. Originally I had the opposite problem, which was that the original admin account could see users but anyone I had assigned as admins could not. This wasn’t a big enough problem for me to worry about, but the current problem is.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Could you check that the Admin who doesn’t have access to Users section has any other role assigned?

Please deactivate all your plugins temporarily except Members to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate all plugins one by one to see which one causes that issue. You can also switch the current theme to the default WordPress theme temporarily and see if this helps.

    I hope that helps.

I can’t check on that because the members plugin isn’t working to show me that. I think I am both admin and member.

While on my main admin account (where users are totally gone no matter if I deactivate members or not), I deactivated every plugin except members and still no users appear.

Do I need to try this on another admin account as well? I have a catch 22 with that – when the members plug-in is on, I can’t see the users. When it’s off, I can see the users but not the roles display at the bottom.

Also, I am using Elementor Pro. But that’s been true since the beginning of this site a year ago. I did disable all of the Elementor plugins which of course messed up the site, but still no users.

At this point I have tried a different role management plug-in that is working, so I am deactivating members for good unless you have an idea.

    Thanks for your help though.
