• Hello,

    I’m running WordPress 5.5, php 7.4, Woocommerce 4.3.3

I’m not sure if I should be posting to this thread or Woocommerce but I thought I’d start here. My apologies if this is the incorrect thread.

I’m not sure when the issue started but a user just reported to me that when they go to our site and click “Login”, which is in the header menu at the top of the home page, they get a 404 error. The current URL is mysite.com/wp-login.php?action=login&redirect_to=/

The same thing happens on Registration; current URL mysite.com/wp-login.php?action=register&redirect_to=/

Logging in through WP Admin Panel works fine. The only issue is the user registration or login. I can’t find where the source is for that URL. If I go into the theme and look at the header menu, only “Checkout” and “My Account” are listed. I’ve no idea where the Registration and Login source resides. I’m not sure how long the 404 issue has been going on but I know I should change the URL to point to the My Account page so one can either register or login. I just need to know where the source for those URLs are so I can update them. I’ll be darned if I can find them anywhere.

As far as plugins, I have “Custom Login” plugin to design a custom login form. I disabled it but I still have the issue.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and switch to the default Twenty Twenty theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

Thank you for the advice. I installed Health Check some time ago so I put the site in Troubleshooting Mode and activated the twentytwenty themewith all plugins disabled. When I attempt to view the Home page, it’s blank. When I go to the production site on another device, I still receive the 404 error. Not sure how I can test this to see if anything changed by changing theme or enabling plugins one by one.

Can’t I fix it by locating the source of the Registration and Login links and changing the URL to point to the My Account page used by Woocommerce instead of wplogin.php? My issue is I can’t find where the source for those two links is so I can change it.

    Thanks,
    Dennis

Start posting in that your theme’s dedicated support forum so the theme’s developers and support community can help you with this.

Thanks, t-p. I had done that and their support first told me I needed to address the issue with my hosting provider. I restated that I needed to know where the settings were that set the registration and login URLs and they told me that I had to update the settings with the URL of the My Account page. I can’t seem to get through to them that I know what the URL SHOULD be, and I just need to know where it’s located. Argh.

I’ve been reading more on WooCommerce and I’ve discovered that the My Account page is generated by WooCommerce so I will go to their support forum to see if they can assist.

    Thanks for your assistance.

    Regards,
    Dennis
