Users can't "add" to lists when in sidebar

    Hi —

    Love the ranker widget. Works perfect in a full page post. But for some reason or another, when I use a poll in a sidebar, the ‘add to list’ function is missing for my site visitors. I really wanted to have a sidebar poll that they could add to.

    I’ve tried it two ways so far: I added the embed code from the ranker site directly into a text widget box, and that produced the poll, and it looked great, but the add function was missing.

    Then I tried generating the short code, and I amended my functions.php file to allow for shortcode in a text widget box, and yet still, it produced a perfect looking list, but without the ‘add’ function so people could add to the poll.

    Any thoughts for a workaround in this? Again, it works great when it’s part of a post; it’s just in the sidebar widget that the option magically disappears.

    Hi Glitch,

    I’ve looked into this issue and I believe it is because the plugin is reactive and thinks your sidebar is actually a mobile view. Certain elements of the widget have not been optimized for mobile yet, so they drop off for a better user experience.

    I’ll see what I can do about adding additional checks or settings for getting around this issue. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. I’ll leave the ticket open and get back to you ASAP.

    Hi Glitch,

    I wanted to update you on this issue: we’ve scheduled a fix for sidebar widgets on desktop in our next release. This should bring back all the addition functionality for you automatically, no need to update any codes. This should hopefully be live in about a week. I’ll keep you posted.

    Hi Glitch,

    I’m happy to announce that sidebar widgets now fully support adding items in desktop mode*. No need to update your code, our push last night should already have enabled this for you (you may have to shift+reload if you’re cached). I’m going to mark this ticket as resolved, but please do reopen it if you have any issues adding sidebar items.
