There is a redirect an a nonce when registering that makes the nonce URL != the custom URL. I’ll have to add a conditional to the next version – I’m pasting a snippet into my next version notes.

Not sure what you are saying? Are you saying the plugin does not yet work with wordpress?… meaning don’t use it if you want people to register? I thought you use this on your clients sites? Do they not have subscribers?

This was created to stop the brute force attacks of 2013. It does exactly that. If people want to do all sorts of additional things then patience is in order as it’s a free plugin and I have a company to run or use a lessor plugin that does all of those things but doesn’t stop the brute force attacks.

No, none of my 78 clients in my hosting account have registration turned on except one that uses MemberPress with no issues. Registration is a security risk. This is for people who are absolute on security. The next major version will be extensible, so if you want to write an add-on, you can knock yourself out enabling anything else you want.

To quote Abe Lincoln, “You can please some of the people some of the time all of the people some of the time some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”

I have read most of your threads here and also I’ve had an email or two from you… you seem to talk AT people as if they are lower on the food chain than you. If you don’t want people here then why post your plugin? If you are grateful that people are using your plugin then talk to them like you would your family. Or how you would like them to talk to you.

May I suggest you simply use another plugin as your issues with this one appear to extend well beyond its intended use?

How am I trying to use it beyond it’s intended use esmi? All I asked is why people can no longer register to my site when the plugin is installed? The answer could have been “it clashes with your theme or another plugin… you need to use a url redirect starting with http … or any number of things”… But the actual answer is “the plugin breaks the registration process”… now I have my answer… thanks. I’m not sure why getting an answer to this has been made into such a big deal.

Please read my comment above. I said that your *issues* with the plugin appear to extend well beyond its intended use. since the plugin appears to do its stated job, then it would seem that it is not the right solution for you. Yet you are still trying to use it in a way that it was not intended to be used and then complaining when it works that way it *was* intended to.

you are doing a word dance…

    q. why can users not register when this plugin is installed.

    a. the plugin breaks the registration process.

    Thanks for your time.

Without locking down access via IP address or file permissions, this plugin creates a secret, customizable, login URL string. Those attempting to gain access to your login form will be automatcally redirected to a customizable URL

yes we knew that bit … what we didn’t know was that registration would cease to work. Now we do. Thanks to my simple question. Which needed only a 5 word answer but got an 11 post thread that took two days. That’s the power of forums I guess.
