• I had a message in the spam and approved it because it seemed legitimate. I tried to reply on the Reply button, but it didn’t open the comment field.

I partially solved it by replying from the admin page. But I’m afraid visitors will have problems responding.

Secondly, I noticed that the user’s name was leading me to another site. So I added the comment on spam.

    Can you help me? https://postimg.cc/9wfH1kT4

How to remove name links in comments?
The Astra theme says it’s not their problem, so I think it’s WordPress related.

  • Hi @ildomandatore
This is the common scenario. You may use an anti-spam plugin like Akismet Spam Protection, Titan Anti-spam & Security, Antispam Bee. Those plugin has common spammer IP list and various filter options that will used to automatic detect those spam comments.

Give it a try and let me know how that goes! ??

Wordpress by default provides a url feature in the name in the comments column that directs to another site for web visitors to fill in.

    This is actually not spam,
because it can connect bloggers to one another.

If you don’t like the url in the name in the comments column,
you can remove it by clicking delete on the cross in the comments menu.

If you want to remove the url column in comments in WordPress, you can use the “Remove Fields” or “Remove Comment Website/URL Box” plugins.

Comments that are considered spam are usually detected because their IP and Email Addresses have been blacklisted. This is common with users of the “akismet” plugin.

The problem is that if a comment is considered spam because of the IP, it can jeopardize the credibility of the email address which will later be considered spam because it is often blacklisted.

It can in the picture that I have linked above,
my own comments are even considered spam even though I commented on my own website.

Hopefully the two solutions above can help you.

    Thanks.
