Perhaps some symbols or multibyte characters can no longer be used for “username”.
They can still be used in the chat box.
Can the “Username” restriction be removed?

    Thanks for the reply.
Since I am using this plugin in Japan, there was a demand to use multibyte characters in the “username” field.
    My question has been answered.

I can look at maybe adding a filter hook that would enable customizing of the username allowed characters. If that is something that would be useful for you?

If that customization is implemented, it would be very attractive and useful!

@nikita12345 can you provide some examples of the characters and/or strings that you would like to use for chat usernames? It would be useful for testing, thank you.

Katakana and hiragana are used most frequently.
    にきーた いちにさんよんご
    ニキータ イチニサンヨンゴ

    Kanji may also be used.
    尼基塔 一二三四五壱弐参肆伍

Symbols are often used like this.
    ○?▽→←[]()

    I hope this helps.

Just to follow up, the next version of SAC improves support for multibyte characters, so any letters from any language are supported in chat names.

Symbols (like the ones you mention) still are not allowed in chat names.

The next version of the plugin should be released sometime this week.

Thanks again for the feedback, @nikita12345.
