    Hi,
I’m successfully using %user_description% as part of a url in the Custom User Links module.
But I can’t get %user_description% to work in the Custom Redirection module. The literal string is just outputted.
    Thanks for any help,
    Andy

Why would one use the user description in a URL?

    Hi Jeff,
I have different groups of users. Each group will share a common home page. I’m sticking the name of their group into the user description field when I create their account.
So their home pages look like:
    /group1-homepage
    /group2-homepage
    /group3-homepage

Interesting. By any means, the only variables available to both modules you mentioned is %user_login% and %user_nicename% (which is actually %username% in the Custom User Links module).

Ah OK. Doesn’t quite fit then. I’m trying to do something quite simple restricting content and pages and I’ve done it with a few smaller plugins rather than one of the bigger membership or group plugins which would be a bit overkill for what I’m doing.

I can do it with another plugin I know. But I still need TML for User Links (thanks) so it looked promising that there might be a way to use TML to redirect on Login as well.

    Thanks anyway for TML.

    Hi Andy

I am interested to know if you solved the problem. If you did, which plugin did you use? Thanks in advance for sharing.
