Are you getting this error when upgrading or just when using the sites?

You may need to ask your host for help, as it sounds like you need more connections allocated, so you may need a bigger/better server.

You need to look into server optimization, database caching, and possibly database sharding,

You have a big DB, and a lot of traffic. Go look at SharDB and HyperDB.

    thank you, I will try

I’m having the same problem with a website I’m developing. Everything was fine and, after walking away from WordPress for awhile (yesterday), I came back to inability to navigate and error message:

    Error establishing a database connection

Edward A. Sanchez – Please make your own topic ??

    Why…if its the same issue?

you can solve this problem with the update for your version of wordpress.
Mr ipstenu hyperdb it used in multi tables and multi database right ?
but for me a lot of tables and one database meby it exception case ?

Edward A. Sanchez – Because it’s not (unless you also have 10230 tables). Also we REALLY like separate threads, so you can have personal support.

bastoy – HyperDB or SharDB would be your best bets. If your DB is this huge, you need to look into splitting it up. (It’s Ms. Ipstenu ?? )
