User won’t delete

  • Hi,

    I have noticed an admin account I did not create.

    I have tried deleting the account, it says “User deleted.” as if it worked but the user is still in the list.

    Also, every time I set the account role from admin to no role, it automatically changes back to admin.

    How can I get rid of this account?

    I guess I will have to do this manually through a database but no sure how?

    It sounds like you’ve been hacked and some evil code is re-adding that user.

    Get a fresh cup of coffee, take a deep breath and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

    If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you. Sucuri and Wordfence are a couple.
