• Hi,

    this plugin is really helpfull.
Sadly since the last update of WP the switch is not working correctly anymore.
We disabled all plugins except user switching and we also disabled, removed, reinstalled and reenabled the plugin but it’s still the same.

The plugin is installed in a multisite environment and enabled networkwide.
Even disabling it networkwide and reenabling it on one child blog does not help.

When switching the user it shows us “switched successfully” but username and admin-menu-items visible stay as with the original user. Posts are also created as the original user. But when changing to another site in the network (where the user I’ve been switching to is not autorized) it seems to use the rights of the switched user instead of the original user.

    Kind regards,

    Dominik

  • I second this. We are on a normal wordpress install not multisite like you but after clicking switch to user, it remains on the same user. Basically plugin doesn’t work any more. We have also tried to disable to plugins to see if there is a conflict. There is none.

I’m not sure what to suggest here. All of the automated tests that ensure that the plugin works as expected are still passing, and I’ve not had any further reports of problems.

Can you try clearing your browser’s cookies for the affected domain names? It’s unlikely this will fix the issue, but who knows.

Have you tried switching to one of the default themes to eliminate the possibility that the theme is interfering somehow?

Just to bump this, I inherited a multisite installation that has the same kind of issues as @hbgit. I haven’t tried uninstalling/reinstalling the plugin yet, however.

I created a separate test WordPress multisite installation, and then the plugin. Made a few users, and was successful in switching with no errors, so I guess it’s not the plugin, but my inherited site. Regardless, I’m not sure how to go about debugging it!

@johnbillion, do you have any suggestions on where to drop a debug call in your plugin to figure this out?

    Thanks,
    Michael

    +1
Recently migrated my installation to a new host, and having the same issue.
